The Nu Beat Club is a regular club night in Manchester City Centre where you can listen to and, more importantly, dance to classic 60's Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae, Club Soul and early Northern Soul. All tunes are played on ORIGINAL vinyl by resident DJs Sugar "Ska Jesus" Merchant and Paul Welsby.

Our first night was in January 2013 and we held regular events for just over 3 years. We then decided to take a short hiatus ..... which stretched out to 6 YEARS !

The GOOD NEWS is that after a 6 year break we are back in the basement at The Retro on

with Special Guest DJ Mr Mass Centi

All the details you need are on the flyer above.

The night runs from 8pm to 2am. £6 OTD or £5 with an advance ticket

Tickets available from or message us on our Facebook page

The venue is the same as in 2016 - The Basement Club, in The Retro Bar, 78 Sackville Street, City Centre Manchester M1 3NJ. It's a stones throw from Piccadilly Railway Station (..... for those of you of a certain age the Retro Bar used to be known as The Swinging Sporran back in the day !)

If you are travelling to The Nu Beat by car there is on the road parking a couple of minutes walk away and a multi-storey car park right next to the Retro Bar on Charles Street, which has a special Saturday night rate.
